Hi all, I've had my chosen jeweller call in a Pear diamond that I hope to have set in a Halo for an engagement ring.

On paper, it meets all the criteria I set out (Class 1A AGS).

Like anyone buying a pear or similar fancy, I was concerned about the bow tie affect that I couldn't determine from the stats.
Here is a link to a 360 view of the stone. Clearly there is a dark band through the middle at certain angles. Probably not a big "bow tie" asuch, but pretty dark when its visible.
Keen to hear what people think of this, relative to what a good pear within minimal bow tie affect looks like.

bump.
any feedback on the 360 view?

Hard to tell a lot from the video but I'm not feeling the stone. Are you going to be able to see it in person? Do you have the GIA number?
Maybe we can find the stone somewhere else that has better videos so we can have a better look. If this is the best that the vendor can
do with videos and you're not going to be able to see them in person then I think you should work with another vendor. Pears are not easy
to buy. You cant buy them by the numbers and up close pictures and videos are pretty important.

Some place like James Allen makes it easier to buy pears because the videos are up close.

Edit...btw, my ering is a pear.

tyty, the GIA report number is 6225909605

That particular vendor is as close as one can get for an Australian online supplier who is like James Allen. If the video was a little more zoomed in, it would make our lives a little bit easier commentary wise on this stone.

I suspect the OP doesn't want to have to deal with the import fees and GST payment they have to make before their stone is released from the custody of Australian Customs & Border Force if they were to purchase from a US based vendor.

I see...thanks bmfang. That makes it a little more difficult but I'll look to see if JA has the stone to see if there
is a better video although I suspect you've already looked.;)

Edit...and no such luck. Check JA and Enchanted Diamonds.

So, fox81 are you able to see the stone in person?
