Reading the news stories coming out on the disgraceful med-school practices happening in Canada (and according to the thread here, maybe in some teaching hospitals in the US?) I thought I''d share an amazing project being spearheaded by some great women I know.

This is a website dedicated to where we''ve come and where we are going in how we treat this sector of women in health care. It also addresses the very real needs of any health care professional who will be working in OB/GYN.

There is a documentary that the Gynecological Teaching Associate (GTA) Program in New York City. Fuelled by the spirit of women’s health activism, the GTA program began over 30 years ago and it has been shown to be the most effective way to teach exams and is also the most ethical and empowering to women.

That''s awesome-thanks for the link!

Wow that''s so interesting!

I feel like I could be one of the volunteers. Maybe I''m crazy but I don''t get traumatized by pelvic exams. For me it''s not much worse than letting a doctor look down my throat or in my ear. I see it as just something we have to do to stay healthy. I have let med students give me exams and I don''t mind because one day they could be my doctor and I want them to have the experience.

"At your Cervix"--that is a fantastically clever name!
