Hi everyone,

I did a search and looked in the FAQ but didn''t find the answer I was looking for so thought someone could help me.

I have a knife edge 18ct WG ring (centre stone AGS0 1.12ct, no other diamonds) that is a little bit small. It can get over the knuckle but isnt as comfortable as I would like it to be. I want to be able to slip it off while cleaning and gardening without too much effort. So my question is, can my ring be risized up slightly or do I need the setting remade?

Thank you.

I don''t know if the knife edge makes a difference or not. I''m going to "guess" it can probably be sized up without problems, but it would be best to ask the jeweler who made it.

It shouldn’t be a problem. Talk to the jeweler you bought it from. Most rings are designed to be sized a little bit for two simple reasons. The first is that the manufacturer had to choose some size in advance and it’s a total crap shoot whether that’s going to be the size of the customer who ends up buying it. Secondly, over a lifetime people change sizes (In my case the trend seems to be getting steadily bigger) and the jewelers need to be able to deal with it when we’re talking about a ring that’s intended to be worn for decades.

It will probably size up no problem.

I Think you can size it with no problem. I would also ask the jeweler to place two small sizing balls in side the ring. That will keep the setting in place.
