I just had my ring "resized" at Cartier in NYC by using 2 resizing beads. It seems comfortable so far, but I have no idea where the beads are supposed to be placed. The jeweler placed the 2 balls at "2 o'' clock" and "5 o'' clock" positions on my band. (My band has 3 diamonds that run across the top.) In one photo online, I saw them placed at "4 o'' clock" and "6 o'' clock" at the bottom. There is a serial number engraved inside the band, so perhaps the jeweler did not want to place any beads on top of it. But does this sound like a mistake? In the end, does it matter where they are placed?

Thanks so much!

If the top of the ring is 12, then the corrct position is 4 and 8

Yes, the top of the ring is 12 o'' clock. The beads are placed at 2 and 5 o'' clock, so it''s more along the side of my finger. Do you think it''s a goof on their part?

Just my two cents,

But I would think the ring would feel "off" because the balls weren''t on equal sides of the ring...

Perhaps you could go back and have them remove/replace the 5 o''clock one?

I have sizing beads that they''re at 4 and 8, but one''s a little shifted and hanging a teeny bit over the edge of the band, so I wear it a specific way to keep the diamond from spinning into my pinky.

Wierd????

Does it work?

That is weird that they are on the same side...I have always had them at 4 & 8

A bit counter-intuitive to preventing spinning.
