resizing a plain band

I need to get the ring my grandmother gave me resized. The band is plain (meaning it has no stones). So, how long would it take to resize? Would it be possible to wait while it getting done? The ring is white gold and it''s going up about a half a size.

Sizing usually isn’t a very difficult job but some jewelers are fairly busy and the problem isn’t with the time required to do your work but with the number of other customers in line ahead of you where they''ve already made a commitment. In some cases it’s possible to make an appointment to have the work done while you wait but it will depend on the jeweler you choose. By all means ask ‘em.

It’s worth noting that the best tradesmen tend NOT to be the ones with the most free time on their hands. Speed shouldn’t be the only concern.
