Resized Leon owners: how long did it take to resize?

My fiance finally proposed yesterday and although the ring is perfection, it's just too big and feels uncomfortable to wear (it spins and flops up and down). I hate to have to send it back to Leon but it looks like I'm going to have to. Can anyone chime in regarding how long it took for the resize to take place and how much he charged? My ring is the 401 (thin one-sided pave band) with cathedral if that helps. It looks like I'm going to go down a quarter size (or maybe more).

Or, does anyone have a recommendation for a jeweler in LA to do it? (Probably a bad idea, I know.)

Thanks!!!

I am not sure but you will have to ask him. I wouldn't go to anyone else unless it is someone like Steven Kirsch or Victor Canera. Resizing is not hard but people can really screw up as well.

Thanks Charmypoo. I'll call first thing in the morning. I was feeling impatient so i was just hoping for some after-hours answers.

I went to a local jeweler after work who sized me at 48mm which is closer to a 4 1/2! I was floored! Talk about being off.

Do you have a ring that you know fits well on that finger? If so I would send that with your Leon so he can match the size, though Id go 1/8 size larger than that, bec when you wear it with a wedding band it will be a little snugger.

All the rings I own are a 5 or 5.5, and they're just simple bands so the sizing doesn't matter much. I was thinking of asking for 4.75 to allow for some room but I don't plan on wearing a wedding band next to it - I will most likely wear it on my other hand.

If anyone else is curious, I called this morning and spoke to Perry. He said sizing, depending on difficult may take one day but no more than a few days. It's just a matter of me waiting for super slow registered mail to deliver the ring to him.

Don't tell them a number. Send a ring that you wear on that finger that fits you well. Say "I need it to fit like this ring".

I'd do sizing beads if at all possible. You may need the extra size later on and it would be bad to resize the ring repeatedly.

Congrats!!!! :appl: :))

Good point. I was just hoping I could tell him 48mm and call it a day. I don't have any rings that fit as snuggly as I want the engagement ring to so I guess I'll have to go shopping for cheap rings. I just don't see size 4.5 or 4.75 that often, which is why my rings are mostly size 5. Maybe I'll try Etsy.

Thank you! The local jeweler I met with advised against sizing beads. She said that the size difference would require a u shaped bar along the bottom half of the ring but she would advise against that as well. That was obviously just her personal perference but I tend to agree with her.

I missed it...what size is the ring?

I just realized that I never said. It's a 5.25.

Put in an order for a couple of rings (4.5 and 4.75) on Etsy. Hope they arrive quickly!

do you planning on wearing 1 or 2 wedding bands? if you do want to wear two bands it's a good idea to have the e-ring a little lose.

I don't plan on wearing my wedding band on the same finger actually, but good point. I may not always feel that way. I may want to leave a bit of room for pregnancy swelling but 5.25 is definitely way too big.
