My grandma gave me a pair of diamond stud earrings before she died when I was younger. My mom has always had them and finally gave them to me. But they''re set in yellow gold and I prefer white. I think each earring is only .1 to .2 carat.. They''re not very big looking.. But they have a lot of meaning to me and thats why I want them reset.

Does anybody have any estimate of how much it would cost to get them set into 14k white gold 4 prong baskets or bezel set? I''m waiting to hear back from Whiteflash about a quote..

I don't know if they charge a setting fee but on their website they list prices; I think it is $175 for the 4 prong. www.whiteflash.com Also, they could rhodium plate them for you instead if you like the setting but not the color but that might have to be redone every so often.

I am sure you could get them set in WG almost anywhere. I''d certainly take them (or send them) to a trusted jeweler though since they are so important to you. I can''t wait to see them.

Ditto! That is a fairly simple, easy procedure and most jewelers will be able to order a setting that you like and set it for you with quick turn around time. I would guess somewhere between $100-$200 based on the gold kt. You should also consider rhodium plating like Skippy suggested. It will be a bit cheaper but as she mentioned may require upkeep. On the other hand WG needs a rhodium re-touch from time to time as well. Consider asking some of the PSers for trusted jewelers in your area if you haven''t developed a relationship with one already.
