when do online vendors like whiteflash and gog replenish their stock...not much variety right now

Many trade suppliers to us vendors don''t allow their inventories to be posted online. Some sites say they have 30,000 posted, others 50,000, others more. Fact is there are several hundred thousand available.

So just not seeing what you are looking for doesn''t mean it is not available. And many times a better option can be found and possibly at an even better price when the search is conducted. And there are also times where inquiries overseas can yield results that are not traditional stateside suppliers.

You would have to email the vendors and ask them. When my FF and I were looking for our stone there was nothing available in our specs and budget I emailed GOG and they brought one in for me that fit the bill to a tee and the rest is history.

what were you looking for that they didnt have?

We were looking for a 1.4-1.49 D-F VS1-SI1 H&A RB with medium blue fluro, which all in all was not the easiest combo to find :).

Sarah from GOG found a 1.37ct E VS1 with medium blue fluro H&A within budget and even though it was 0.3 cts off my minimum target it was still above my minimum diameter measurements (I wanted something that was at least 7mm) and she is a beauty so all in all I was over the moon happy :).

I was quite surprised by your post as there have been a number of diamonds suggested for you in your other threads. I guess these haven''t been quite what you''re looking for, for some reason..

If you can tell us why these aren''t quite lighting your fire, it might help us to help you. :)

Of course, calling the vendor in person remains a brilliant suggestion!

I too would call the vendor and tell them exactly what you are looking for

Marty,
can you elaborate on your answer? I''m not really sure what you are saying..?
What do you mean by a "not traditional stateside supplier".
For the sake of helping others, would you mind?
thx!

Yeah, I''m surprised too. I gave him 3 top cuts in his range last night. Although the med flo is news to me.

SFAR, I think you might be best served contacting a vendor at this point. Many of us have tried to help you, to no avail.

I loved the diamonds you suggested Ellen. (I think the medium fluoro is referring to Deelight''s diamond hunt...).

I had specific requirements and I called a few highly regarded Pricescope vendors. I decided to work with Whiteflash and Lesley found me a stone that was not listed. Not all stones are on the virtual list. Vendors get lists frequently and often have a customer they know of before the stone ever gets to be listed.
You might try contacting one or two Pricescope vendors to discuss what you want. Then if a listing comes in that they think would meet your needs, they may contact you before it is listed or they may be able to seek one out for you.

WF seems to get new inventory in every few months. I think it depends, so best to ask them. When we first started looking in April, I remember that they didn''t have a very large selection, but sometime within the next 2-3 months, I checked again and it looked like they had just gotten a lot more diamonds in. The ACAs do seem to go quickly, so I would stay on top of it!

WhiteFlash cuts their own stones, and they usually come in every few weeks (maybe 6-8). However, WF and other vendors do have continual access to lists of stones from diamond suppliers and can look for whatever you want. But if you want WF's top cut, the ACA, you will have to wait until they get what you want. I waited for my matched pair of earring stones from them, but they eventually came! My ring diamond came from GOG and they were always looking at suppliers lists for me, but we ended up buying one from their existing stock.

Not to mention that our cutters in Antwerp are just now returning from their holidays. It will take some time for stones to be finished and then papered and then finally sent to the vendors here in the US.

Horrible practice that, the whole darn industry taking so much time off just because things are supposed to be slow in August.
