I''m considering a Jaffe halo wedding ring set and will need to put in a center stone. I don''t know the mm dimensions of the previous stone, but it is a 4 prong setting where the diamond will be held above the level of the halo diamonds. I''d guess the previous stone to be .80-1.10 ct, and I plan to put an .85 ct 6mm x 6mm in the ring.

My concern is how "forgiving" the 4 prong setting will be without knowing the measurements of the halo. Would you have to let the halo dictate the size of the center stone? The halo is prong set with a bezel underneath/base. The bezel doesn''t touch the center stone - it''s mounted sort of up and above the halo.

I''m looking at an .85 ct stone, but also still considering a 1.03 stone too. Will I have to let the ring dictate the dimensions of the diamond in the case of a halo? I realize there''s not a lot of information to go on, but I''m hoping someone might be able to lend some perspective.

Thanks!

Yes, you''ll definitely have to have a jeweler measure the stone area and give you dimensions before you buy a stone!

I''d find out from the jeweler how big or small a stone the jaffe setting will take. you very well might have a little wiggle room since the stone wouldn''t be bezel set, but a jeweler will be the best one to answer your question accurately..
