Replace cable or chain for jade pendant ?

Hi,
My favourite every day pendant had an adjustable cable, and after years of wear it broke. Has anyone replaced this type of cable? Is there a premium gold chain that would work for this? Any bench recommendations? Budget is no option for this most worn sentimental piece - a gift from my parents.
