Thank goodness the hot weather has abated slightly, huh? The last two days at work with only patchy (read: non-existant) air conditioning have been terrible. As if it wasn't already hard enough to get back in the work groove after the Xmas/NY break!

OOH, yea! susimoo's siggy, the "x". I notice a lot of Euros and Aussies write "x" everywhere at the end of things. I have no idea why or what it means. and I always found it funny.

Not funny as in "HAHA", but funny as in interesting to observe. Quirky. In a good, unique way.

I think you should take a refund and $400 loss of GST. It was very clear to me that there are two big issues: the concept of mind clean (which means no partial refund will do the trick), and loss of more money. So you take an already expensive necklace, add more to the cost, and perhaps (likely) have the pleasure of paying a second round of GST when you receive it back? Not good. I'd rather lose $400 outright than risk investing significantly more and perhaps still only think of issues when I look at the piece.

The whole situation is crap.

Agreed. Crappy all round. I might be tempted to cut and run too as you've gotta be happy with it. And I don't think you are.
