Today marks the 1st anniversary of the Black Saturday fires here in Victoria, Australia. A national day of mourning has been declared as we stop and remember the 173 people who lost their lives, and the hundreds more who lost their homes.
Where I live, just last week police charged two boys aged 14 and 15 with lighting a fire that day that destroyed in excess of 50 houses and killed one man. It defies belief that two thoughtless boys could cause so much suffering.
