After my yellow diamond project, I will be left with 2 RBs: 1 ct and .25 ct.

I also have a YG bezel pendant/slider which which is .50 ct (also RB.) I don't wear it much anymore because I find the bezel too thick: it sorts of overwhelms the stone, which would be very pretty otherwise.

Now that would leave me with 3 stones of increasing size. A pendant begging to be born? What do you think?

1. A journey pendant? Too blah?

2. Slider with the 1 ct, then below the 25 pointer, then still the 50 pointer? But then I would be stuck with the bezel look, right? I like it for one stone, but it may be too much for 3...

3. Pendant with the 50 pointer first, then the 25 pointer, then the 1 ct lower, all in prongs? Could be on a bail, but then would it turn around?

Note: I am rough on my jewelry, and tend to get my hair tangled in my necklaces. So the slider/pendant on a bail is a better solution for me than the fixed stone necklace.

Arhhh... I don't know! Help, please! :wavey:

Oh, and the idea would be an everyday summer necklace. So I am looking for something plain and simple (and a setting that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.)

I havent seen your bezeled pendant but does it have milgrain? You might try milgraining it to break up the thick
bezel.

For a 3 stone pendant I would think about doing .5, .25 and then the 1 carat. I would bezel and milgrain the .25, prong
set the other two and maybe put a bail on the .5.

Could you pick up another .25 and sort of do a DBTY with the 1 carat in the middle then the .25s on either side further
up the chain?

If you wanted a more clean look you could go with using just two of the stones. Like eiter the .25 or the .5 with the 1 carat
right below it.

My choices...if I had extra..

1. a 1ct pendant...
or
2. a five stone with the one carat in the middle and purchase matching for the two remaining..

or..

1. a 1 ct. pendant
and... A three stone ring and add with the .50 in the center.... so only one matching stone needed...

I like your problems.... :appl:

Thanks, Tyty and Mayk! Now I have still more choices to agonize over, and more $$ to spend... (OK, truth be told, I had considered the 3 stone ring but the idea had been safely tucked away at the back of my mind.)

Now, since you push me in the direction of more spending, what about this: the 50 pointer and its (to be purchased :$$): ) twin as studs. The 1 ct as a bezeled pendant/slider. Which would free up the 25 pointer studs I have now to make a 3 stone ring with the remaining 25 pointer. Or in the alternative use the three 25 pointers and the 1 ct to make a swell pendant on a bail.

;( Arhhh again!

First world problems, right??? poor you ;)) :wink2:

I'd go for something unique - since you have the stones to do it - and have the 1 ct either topped or bottomed by the 3 x .25 pointers. probably bottomed so it looks kind of like a ruffle (KWIM?) instead of on top, which could look like the diamond is wearing curlers

If you don't buy more stones (WHAT??? DID I TYPE THAT ON PS??? :nono: OMG!), and stuck w the original .25, .5 and 1ct... something funky and unique would be to bezel each in the 3 diff golds (WG/RG/YG - 1 per diamond) and then suspend them in a 3 stone graduating down (yeah, traditional, but the 3 golds make it more funky)

Just random thoughts...

First world problems indeed. But that's what PS is all about, no? :D

Agreed: my diamonds should NOT wear curlers :!: But the bottom ruffle would be cute... Or else 3 25 pointers in a vertical line, with the 1 carat at the bottom?

Now about the 3 gold bezel  , brilliant! OTOH, I would pass up the opportunity to spend my hard earned :$$): on such neccessities as 50 pointers. Please keep the random thoughts coming!

Or else 3 25 pointers in a vertical line, with the 1 carat at the bottom?

Would it look too much like an exclamation point? "!"

(a loose random thought - they escape like mad every now and then...)

OMG, yes!

Enerchi, you are the one who once spotted the 3 stone Mickey Mouse necklace, right? Since then I have never been able to look at those without entertaining disneyesque thoughts...

Note that initially I was considering buying NO new stone! :nono: That's the trouble with PS...

Eh, wait, what about a Tiffany knock-off like this? with the 25 pointers dangling from the 1 carat?

And then I "only" have to buy the 50 pointer for the matching stud...

It's very pretty... But I think the pendant would br more classic and you would get to wear more often....

   Yup, my PS "claim to fame" lol!!!

Oh, I do like that dangle necklace w the 1ct up top then the 3 separate .25's - its really unique.... but... (sorry!) it may not be as classic and timeless as the other ideas. Depending upon your age, it may be young for your style too. For me at my age (a ripe old..."older than I wanna be" mother of 23,21 & 18 y.o.), I would find it fun on a younger person but not really suitable for my style.

3 stones set in between the 2 circles, and add the 1ct to sit on the inner metal circle?

too ornate but the idea of 3 sitting on a single line, then the larger diamond dropping below?

Enerchi, my son is entering college, so I must be about as young as you. :cheeky: All the more reason to look beyond the classics. I also like the Serendipity Tiaras design (and it fits my princely status too.) The other ones are not "me."

I any case, if the purchase of a 50 pointer is required, it means, sadly, then this project may have to be shelved until Santa's next visit. Unless anyone can help me locate a bargain in the meantime... Will go look at DB!

Just another idea. I had 1.00, 0.8 and 0.7 to recycle. I'm working with Poppyseed to set them in the custom setting that fits my stones. I like this style. It's not flashy and looks fresh.

Tss...tss...you people are driving me crazy when you say that you have so many diamonds to recycle and you're wondering what to do with them!!!!! :P
Back to the discussed issue: The dangle necklace that you posted is TO.DIE.FOR....

Inna, your stones are closer in size than mine. This is a lovely piece!

natyLad, yes, I know, we PSers are much to be pitied...

OTOH, without entering too deep into personal stuff, these diamonds come from my defunct marriage, and I used to associate them with such pain that I had not been able to wear them, or even look at them, for many years. They have spent that time at the bottom of a safe deposit box. I know there are threads here on "divorce diamonds" and those are difficult to deal with. My initial idea was to give them to my son's bride whenever he finds his true love. But maybe she would not be into diamonds (yes, there are such people  ) or she would hate the associations.

And now I have a new life, and new happiness. Not only have those old diamonds become harmless, but I look forward to enjoying them as simply pretty diamonds, not sinister mementos. On to recycling!

My SO just presented me with a Fancy Yellow diamond for a ring, and we will recycle 8 of my "old" 25 pointers to make a halo around it. He says it represents our life: the blending of old pain and new hope. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/please-help-design-my-yellow-fcd-ring.173026/

I am glad you love the dangle necklace. The more I look at it, the more I am drawn to it. Sometimes Tiffany gets things right. ;)

The Tiffany pendant is beautiful. I would just be cautious about the length of the dangles. If they are too long it will make diamonds at the end of them to appear visually smaller. Based on the proportions of the picture to me it looks like they used fairly large stones, maybe 1-1.5 each.

Good point. I'll have to check it out on their website. I have never seen this pendant in their stores.

Now what about this? A trio of 25 pointers arranged like this, with the 1 ct below? Probably prong set, not bezel?
Enerchi, any unfortunate associations I should worry about? This can't look like the 1 ct is wearing curlers, can it?
And I'd still have to get another 50 pointer to do the studs.

LOL!!  that really did make me laugh out loud!!!

Nope, other than a trefoil or a shamrock, I think you are good to go! (and both those are lovely things ---- go for it!) :D I give you my 'unassociated blessing' on this plan!

Again it may have to wait until Santa shows up... And in the meantime, speaking of recycling projects, Jerry Newman at Gemart is recutting a beautiful aqua my SO gave me (13/14 mm square after recut) and it too will need a home...

Oops, wrong PS section, have to move to CS to post about it...

13 - 14mm aqua??? AI YI YI!!! GORGEOUS!!! what are you plans for that?? (or should this be in a new thread? ) Sounds awesome - thanks SO for the lovely gift to PrincessCath so we can enjoy the process with her! :appl:
