I inherited this recently from my dearly passed stepmother of 50yrs. The whole family was together when we purchased it in 2004 for her 60th birthday which is significant in the Korean culture.
The jeweler said the stone seems deep, and I’d like to get it recut. My question is of style.
Does a setting like this lean toward a particular cut? I’d like to get a transitional or OEC, but is a MRB more suited to this setting?
Any insight would be helpful. The goal is not to get a super ideal cut but to reset the improved stone in the same setting. Thanks in advance!
