I''m trying to get a general idea of styles for ring settings for an engagement ring. Unfortunately, my gf rarely ever wears rings and as such, it is tough to figure out which style to begin looking at.
While I know she dislikes yellow gold, favoring either white or platinum for the metal, I am still trying to discover her favorite style. One of our friends has a pave setting with a halo of diamonds around the center stone. We both agreed that it may be too much for my gf.
As a shorter woman (5''1"), with a very classic sense of style (lots of Ann Taylor Loft), I was leaning towards a sidestone setting with a 1.06-1.16c VS2-SI1 G-F excellent/ideal cut.
Examples are as follows:

So, do you think that these rings are good choices for a woman of her stature and taste?
