Recommendations for a Chicago-area Jeweler?

I'm on the hunt for a wedding band. I'm not so sure what I want and what will sit nicely next to my engagement ring so I'm looking for a place that has a big selection to try on. My normal jeweler just doesn't have the inventory to try on different styles. So I'm looking for a jeweler in the Chicago area that has a large inventory of platinum women's bands and preferably one that carries good quality diamonds in their bands. I also go to Milwaukee regularly if anyone knows someone up there.

I haven't been there myself, but I've heard good things about Windy City Diamonds.

I've never been there but Dimend Scaasi is in Chicago and they have lovely items.

I am not sure what kind of wedding band inventory they have since I was not paying particular attention, but we met with Eric at Ethan Lord in downtown Chicago when we were looking for an engagement ring and he was helpful in showing us different stones and styles (ended up having it made by Mark at ERD since he found us a great stone).

If you already have a jeweler and are just looking for stores with tons of styles to get a sense of what you like, you could spend hours just browsing jeweler's row and trying rings on. I definitely did! :twirl:

You can just browse jeweler's row? I mentioned going there to my father-in-law (he's native to downtown) and he told me I had to have an appointment in order to get in at most of the places.

Thanks for the recommendations, I will check them out. Keep 'em coming!

You do need an appointment for some stores in the area (like the one I mentioned above), but we live downtown were able to walk right in to many of the street level stores on Wabash and try things on on a Saturday. Most were not places I would buy from, but they had cases of different styles and were happy to help.

We went down jewelers row on a Saturday and had no problems just walking into many of the stores.

Go to Tiffanys on MIchigan Ave. I'm in there quite a bit and they always seem very friendly - lots of bands to try on and if you find the style you like you can get it from a PS vendor at a more reasonable price.
