Hey everyone. I'm thinking about upgrading my fiancé's engagement ring.
She currently has this one in a Tiffany Classic replica setting:

She wears a size 6 and has dainty looking hands, I don't think she would like anything too large or bulky.

These diamonds have caught my attention, which one of the three do you think is best?

Thanks!

Without being able to see the AGS certificate on number 2, I like number three the best. It's a beauty.

Thanks for your help, yes #2 is a new arrival and I'm waiting on the diamond cert as well.

I've been eyeballing #3 for some time, just don't know if I will notice a huge difference in clot going from an E to an H?

This one looks like a great value, but the diamond cert concerns me because it states "additional twinning wisps and surface graining not shown."

Hard to say. A well cut H is extremely white (to me). I would certainly recommend looking at a well cut H in the same size stone before purchasing if you're worried. Although, you could always return the stone if it didn't meet your fancy.

I don't have enough experience and haven't physically looked through enough diamonds to tell you if this might be a problem. It is not usually an issue in VS stones, but frankly, I'd be worried about all that scatter of light and potential color of the wisps. When in doubt, have WF pull the stone and give you a report. They'll tell you straight up. Best of luck!

I forgot to mention above.... all of the ACA stones are intensely quality control checked. It would have been demoted if it had issues. The ACA stones are checked before final shipment, as well. Still, I'd have that last stone checked and would want a short write-up of the effect (if any) of the inclusions.

I ran to the local Tiffany's today to check out their diamonds and see what these sizes look like in person. I personally think the 1.2-1.3 is going to look too big on her. My fiancé likes things which are simple and elegant, not too flashy.

The 1 carat size looked very nice. The biggest would have to be 1.10-1.15 carat. Also, I could definitely tell the difference between an E and H color diamond face up, so I think I'm better off sticking with G or F.

Her current stone is set in a James Allen six prong Tiffany replica. Her setting is much daintier than Tiffany's, it makes her 3/4 carat look larger than the 3/4 carat at Tiffany's. How does the Vatche U113 setting compare to the Tiffany's? Is it bigger or smaller?

Hi CalRon-
I think it is so sweet that you are thinking of up grading your fiancé stone to go a bit over the caret mark. Size wise have you talked abt the up grade with your love? What does she think?

With a size six finger and a solitaire setting I feel any woman could easily pull off a round brilliant whit measurements in the 6.9 to 7.0 range. Simple, Classy and with a presence.

If you're upgrading from a .75, go to the full 1.25 or whatever the size "max" you were thinking. You won't gain enough of a difference in size to really warrant the cost otherwise, but that's my opinion. I would not do this as a surprise--I would definitely consult her.

Thanks for your help.

I was planning on surprising her with the upgrade. Actually, I would like to surprise her by sliding it on her finger when we exchange wedding vows. But, because it's so much more expensive and because the diamond is much larger, you are probably right that I get her opinion.

She loves the engagement ring I gave her, but I'm not completely satisfied. I'd like her to have a larger stone and I don't really care for the prongs on her setting.

Does anyone know how the Vatche U113 compares to the Tiffany Classic? The band on the James Allen version is very dainty and looks good on my fiancé, but the prongs are much wider. The band on the Tiffany version was a lot thicker and stood much taller, but the prongs were nice and thin. I think a smaller, daintier setting looks best, but I'd like her to have a larger stone. So I need to find her a stone and a new setting.

I agree!

Me too!!!

1.25 carat would be a more noticeable upgrade, but I really think it will look too large on her, especially because of our lifestyle.

I like this diamond, but am concerned about the ASET and Idealscope image. There are shades of white in the table in these images. What does this mean?

I like this diamond as well, but the diamond cert says there are additional clouds not shown. Will this make the diamond look hazy?

Which do you think is the best between the two of them?
