Weather is awful here in the NY metro area and I''m tired of wet shoes, so may finally buy those trendy rain boots I see everyone wearing. Only brand I know is Hunter..anyone have a brand/website they love or recommend? Or are they all the same and name is irrelevant..
I have some Hunter "Huntresses" and LOVE them! If I didn''t have them, I probably would have just grabbed a black pair from Academy. The Hunters really are great though... they have amazing grip when its wet and slippery outside. The good thing about Hunter is they really aren''t that trendy... the brand started in the 1700s I believe and The Queen has been wearing them a while so they shouldn''t ever go out of style.
I have a pair of Sperry rain boots that I have loved for years. They are nearly through with their life now, but have lasted for more than five years - at an $80 pricepoint, I think that''s pretty good! Will probably switch to some Hunter''s next though, my Sperry''s are a pattern and I prefer the look of a solid color.
I hear you about NY weather this week it is ridiculous!
I have a pair of Burberry rain boots I''ve been using for years and love, I also have a cute pair of rain flats from JCrew. They look just like ballet flats but are made of rain boot material. DH just bought a pair of Hunters and he thinks they''re just ok.
Hunter are a classic, they aren''t cheap but are so worth it. Mine go through so much abuse, a quick rinse with a hosepipe and they come up as good as new.
I have the Sorel Sorellington and I love them. I have this obsession for orange lately, and the brown and orange pair fit the bill--the brown is similar in color to the Georgia dirt where we live. I had them on all day Sunday for yard work, and they were super comfortable and supportive. Highly recommend them!
I''ve been on a mission for rain boots lately so I''ll be watching this thread!
I love the look of Hunters but they''re just too wide for me. Plus I really need a half size in them and I haven''t found any half sizes so I think that means Hunter doesn''t make them. I got a pair (they''re the Short Lace-up boot-super cute) and ended up letting my husband have them because they were just too long and wide for my feet, but the smaller size was too short and still too wide. He loves them though!
I ordered L.L. Bean duck boots that just came yesterday, but they only come in brown and all I wear is black so they''re going back, too. I think I''m just too picky for rain boots!
Thanks everyone! I think I''ll go for the Hunters and go one size down since I hear they run big. Just wish I could find them for a *bit* cheaper. They were on overstock at a great price, but no more.
I see LLBean has a pretty good boot too, so that''lll be my 2nd choice.
