I recently purchased this stone:
http://www.bluenile.com/round-diamond-2-carat-ideal-cut-j-color-vs2-clarity_ld02349724?tempcurr=USD

I just received it and it looks like a nice stone. The J color while noticeable at times is not bothersome to me and allows me to get a larger stone while staying in budget of under 20,000. I believe the HCA is 1.8 if I remember correctly.

Does this look like a nice stone? Anything that I could be missing?

I was just looking on Brian Gavin's website and found this:
http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/2.300-j-vs2-round-diamond-hrd-34424329
ALthough I am not sure what the cert. is.

Just want to make sure I got a nice stone for the money I paid.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Your stone does look like a nice stone - would love to see pictures of it!

The Brian Gavin stone is from their virtual list and looks like the cert is HRD. Wouldn't be a stone I would choose as I wouldn't want an HRD cert. I think you could call them though and tell them your stone parameters and see what they would recommend from their own inventory of stones. You could then compare their prices to what you have recently purchased.

It looks like a really nice diamond! I wish Blue Nile would post pictures of the actual diamonds on their website. I would also like to see pictures because my bf and I are considering Blue Nile in our search as well.

Thank you for the replies. I will post a picture later on tonight.

I know Blue Nile isnt one of the more popular vendors on this site because of the reason you mentioned but I have had good experiences with them and their return policy is pretty good with 30 days free returns. Also, I was able to find a promotion of $700 off the diamond before Christmas, plus cash back(about $650 back), so you can get some good savings if you look out for them!

Oh, I'm excited! I love looking at the recently purchased ring section because it gives me an idea of what their diamonds are like. But I see a *very* wide range of diamonds, with some looking spectacular and others...not so much! So I can't wait to see pics! I'm sure it's gorgeous!

And their return policy is definitely the reason why we are considering them, but we don't want to keep buying diamonds and returning if they are not up to standard. Seems like such a hassle.

Omg, it's gorgeous! Congrats, I think it's simply stunning. And you have the tiniest fingers.

Your diamond is gorgeous.

A month ago, my fiance proposed with a Blue Nile diamond and setting. Because I knew nothing about stones, I immediately began researching diamonds and found this site. I started to doubt my diamond, as Blue Nile isn't a popular vendor here. But, the diamond was top-graded GIA, and sparkled and glowed like crazy. After comparing it to in-house diamonds from other vendors and their youtube videos, my worries were settled. I was just being a nervous new mother. I love my diamond. It's perfect.

Mine has fluorescence too. It should brighten any warmth. I love the ethereal glow it gives mine in daylight. Blacklight is so much fun too.

Blue Nile's customer service was very helpful when I had questions. Also, having my ring resized was quick and easy.

Have confidence in your lovely diamond and enjoy!

I know this was meant for bling lover, but for someone like me who is also considering blue Nile, this makes me feel more confidant in buying from them! Thanks so much for the info! :D

As long as you stick to their signature line you usually get good results. And even if you don't care for the piece you ordered their customer service and their return policy are both quite good.

That diamond looks beautiful. A good friend of mine got a gorgeous three stone diamond anniversary ring from Blue Nile so my husband decided to buy my five stone ring from them. The diamonds are stunning and I would not hesitate to buy from Blue Nile again.

Thank you again for the nice replies! I do love it and it sparkles like crazy. I have been wearing it ALL the time which is rare for me with jewelry. I also have an eternity band that pairs nicely with it also.

Here is a picture of my BN signature princess cut in dim light. Everything seems to be in order. The picture is blurry because it is really, really hard to get a snap shot. The pink in the diamond is from the reflection of my pink camera. I love looking at all the facets. BN is not all that bad. I have until Jan 16 to return it. Doubtful I will though.

Edit: I included a picture with the ring in daylight. Dog seems excited. The other picture is of it fully fluorescing (I think).

I'm really happy with what I have. I hope people aren't scared of BN. Yes, I would have liked an ASET image and an AGS 000 report. I have GIA EX/EX and it worked out for me.

As I said before, BN has some good diamonds. Yours is gorgeous!

I suppose this was my concern initially. But, the more I thought about it, I realized with the specs of the stone plus the fact I just thought it was beautiful is going to be enough for me. Thank you for sharing a picture of your beautiful stone! Congrats!

It's from their Signature line.
0.86 ct, G, VVS1

I looked for similar diamonds on Blue Nile, White Flash, Good Old Gold, and James Allen. There seems to be a shortage of .8-.99 ct diamonds right now.
