Hi Everyone,

I have been a long time lurker but just now decided to make an account...so thanks for all your help previously even if you didn't know you were doing it! I recently purchased the Tacori 2620 with a 1.40 carat cushion. In my dealings with my jeweler, they keep telling me they do all the work on the Tacori settings. When I contacted Tacori directly, they stated all work must be done through them to keep the warranty in tact.

When I brought this to the attention of my saleslady, she stated her jeweler sets all of her diamonds. She also informed me of the insurance and shipping on the diamond would be around 160.00 but I'm not concerned with that. I have searched the forums (I think correctly) and I have not found information on this. Could anyone assist me and shed some light on my situation? Thanks very much!

I've asked the moderator to move this to Rocky Talky.

While I don't have a Tacori, I almost purchased one through one of their platinum-designated stores. My understanding is that a diamond setting and resizing can be done at the jeweler if they have a certain status with Tacori. But, again, since I didn't buy one, I would feel better if you wait for others to chime in, as well, that may have more specific experience.

Just to be clear, is your jeweller an authorized Tacori retailer? If yes, then they are authorized by Tacori to do certain work on tacori pieces (sizing the ring, tightening prongs, setting stones) however for more substantial issues then the ring will have to be shipped to tacori. If your jeweller isn't an authorized dealer then any work they do on your ring will void the warranty.

This is how it was explained to me whe we bought my rings and my huusband's band.

I apologize for the lateness of my reply. Thank you for all your responses! I actually ended up cancelling the order with the jeweler as I felt she wasn't being honest with me. I had contacted her roughly a day after I ordered the Tacori and she tried making me feel completely horrible about it (I changed it after getting information my gf doesn't like straight bands). So, after that, I cancelled the order and went to a different wonderful jeweler.

It seems every place I go to says the same thing in that they can set it in store and they can't understand why I'd want to send it straight to Tacori. I have ended up sending my diamond to Tacori direct to have them do all of the work. Thanks for all your help!

Glad you ended up with a purchase you feel confident about. Post the tacori upn arrival!
