Real Tiffany or not?

Dear Sir/Madam,

a few hour earlier, I posted an ebay link for the ring I am about to buy...
(I will not post it again, it is in the "all Ye good people..." post...

A kind person pointed out that Tiffany rings should not include the weight of the diamond inside the Ring... Is this true?

Would someone, who own a Tiffany Diamond ring, confirm this please?

Sorry if my post was misunderstood. I only meant to pose the question. I don''t know anything about Tiffany rings and don''t know if the engraving is customary or not. You might want to call Tiffany and ask. Plus, anyone could have it done at their own jeweler.

I have seen other Tiffany rings posted that have their carat weight engraved in the shank. You can double check with Tiff''s customer service but this must be standard practice for them - or at least it used to be.

Yes it is on there. Mine says Tiffany & Company Pat. some list of numbers et al more number and then the carat weight.

I would say that MOST tiffany rings on ebay would be fake, but as with all purchases on ebay it is buyer beware!!! There have been many horror stories of ebay purchases on this site, compared to the couple good ones...

I find it a bit odd that the seller doesn''t have the Tiffany box for the ring, but is selling an empty Tiffany box on another auction.

I agree that giving Tiffany a call would be a very good idea.

I have a Tiffany ring that is genuine. It has engraved on the inside Tiffany&Co. Plat950 the serial number and the carat weight.

Ebay is so risky with a large purchase like this. You might want to check out signedpieces.com. They carry many tiffany rings and are very trusted here.
