Right back at ya Stephanie. I think you are the nicest person I have come across on PS!! Anyway, I spoke too soon.

Having on and off attacks all day. I took my doggies to be groomed, just as another precaution. I am not allergic to them, I call them my hypo allergenic fluff balls. But heck, thought, lets get them all clean. My house is cleaned regulary, have a hepa filter. It''s the weather, mold, etc.. I may have to get the dreaded shot on Monday. But am doing everything my allergist told me to do, so am holding out hope. I can''t take Advil sinus cold, am on Zyrtec, Flonase and Prednisone. One more med would put me over the edge, hehe. If I cut off my head, I''d feel great, LOL!!!!

Kaleigh, again, hope you get to feeling better! Methinks you should just move away to AZ where you can lounge by the pool and take advantage of no humidity and slim to no plant life to aggravate your sinuses...wish it were that simple, right?! Anyway, take care and feel better soon!

I just saw this ! How horrible this is for you Kaliegh. And the sheer amount of meds! I''m hoping that you don''t have to do the shot as you don''t want to. I hope you feel better soon! Wish there was something I could do to help!

Thinking of you!

I am so sorry to hear this! My daughter came home yesterday evening from a few days away attempting to attend an outdoor "camp" with symptoms that I diagnosed as allergies. She had not been outdoors much at all until these few days and so I wouldn't have known how allergic she was to outdoor plants and weeds. Spending 10-12 hours outside doing activities (and the rest in cabins with unfiltered air) changed things. She said it felt as if her throat was closing up. Her eyes were tearing. Her voice was deep yesterday and today sounded as if she had laryngitis. She was sneezing and coughing. My husband gave her Nyquil last night so that she could sleep, but I gave her two Benadryl capsules today (as recommended on the package) and she seems to be getting better inside the air conditioning. I'm no allergy expert, but she wasn't warm (as in feverish) and it just didn't seem like a cold!

I hope you feel better soon!!!

I was scared to post, because as soon as I do, I thought I would jinx myself, but guess what????

I got allergies when I moved from NJ to VA for college. Not sure if it was my age or location, but they''re here to stay, and are not helped by working in a filthy high school with no windows. This year I made them test the mold levels in my room, which were supposedly normal, so I can only blame my sore throat and stuffiness on the lack of ventilation.

I take Claritin D every day. I''ve also recently begun using a neti pot (search for one on Amazon). It''s just a little tea-shaped pot where you mix saline packets with warm water, then pour it through each nostril. It sounds gross, I know, but it works pretty well and does not contain steroids/drugs. It was showcased on Oprah and poked fun at on The Office, so I know I''m not the only one who uses it.

About a month ago, I was completely unable to sleep through the night or exercise breathing through my nose (and this is while still taking Claritin D). Now as long as I use the neti pot every other day or so, I''m ok.

Thanks phoenixgirl. I am sorry you have them too. I saw the neti pot on Oprah. My fave is using a spray can called Simply Saline. Quick and easy. I am getting retested soon. Last time I was tested, they said it was the worst test they had ever seen, and asked me how I survived day to day. I have had them since I was very little.

BUT RIGHT NOW????

I am feeling great!!!

Knocking on wood again, LOL!!

Gosh those allergies are no fun at all!! My son is suffering with them right now too. He always gets them for about a month during the end of August and half of September. It makes for a yucky back to school for the poor kid!

Glad you are feeling better Lisa and hope it continues!

Usually I don''t have them now, more like September. I feel for your soon, no fun going back to school with allergies. I was wondering how his hand is doing. Is it all healed by now?? Thanks for the well wishes hlmr!!!
1.gif

He''s doing well with his hand, thanks. He just has to get used to the fact that it will never feel the exact same as it did before the injury/surgery. His strength also needs to be built up in that hand, but I am sure sure it will come back. He is just a little wary of being too rough with it right now.

oh GOODY, I hope your allergies stay away for good, Kaleigh! Happy to hear you''re feeling better!

Lisa,

Just saw your post. How are you feeling?? I suffer from allergies too. September until March or April Ick Ick Ick, Mine always lead into sinus infections then bronchitis. I can look forward to it every year. I also have asthma, so that flares up too.

Hope you are still feeling better. Thinking of you.

Luckily I am still feeling well Linda. That prednisone did the trick, so no dreaded shot for moi. I hear you on the sinus infections, they are so painful. I''m sorry you have asthma on top of your allergies, so not fun!!

Thanks Monnie!!!

Kaleigh I only just saw this too. I am glad you are feeling better. I have had accupuncture for allergies and it is awesome. Also last year had a bizzare technique done on my points of my spine to cure allergies forever and it seemed to work despite my husband thinking it had no scientific validity allergy
But now I got my allergic reaction maybe I have messed up my whole system

.
I was on prednisolone and it wiped me i feel so crappy and full of fluid

. Glad you had no problems.

Lisa, now it is my turn for the suffering; I woke up because I could breath thru my nose. I wake up with red eyes in the morning and now I think I need to start working out inside versus outside. I finally asked for allergy eye drops; I guess I need nose spray. Oh well, this too will pass. hehe

How are you feeling?

skippy sorry to hear your your allergies are acting up hope you feel better real quick!

I hope so too; I think I will ask my doc about the stuff that helped Ms. Kaleigh. I hope you are much better too!

Thank you Storm.

Skippy,

I hope you feel better soon!!!!!!! Allergies are a pain in the fanny aren''t they??? My asthma kicked in yesterday, so I am trying to get it under control. It is so hot here, so I think that is what is triggering it.

Ask your Dr. for some nose spray. Rick and I have to take ours daily, it does really help.

love to you,
Linda

Linda, yikes to your asthma acting up; please take care of yourself. That is scary stuff; you are such a sweetie; virtual hug to you!!! I heart you too! I will ask for nose spray. I hope you get better soon!

Lisa, sorry for the thread jack; I just was super frustrated this morning. I hope you are doing lots better and continue to be doing so. allergy.com gives a weekly update to allergies in your area in case you are interested and keeps you alert to upcoming allergies. I guess our beautful desert sagebrush is killing me.

Ugh, sorry guys! I don''t know if I have allergies, I am going in to get a scratch test this year. I do know that since I came back to Boston from Morocco I have had a CONSTANT sinus headache and now I have sinusitis.

I bought a nutti pot today but the water, as when I tried with a bulb syringe, doesn''t go through. It''s kind of creepy actually, like what is wrong with my face????

I tried Allegra but it sped up my heart rate quite badly and didn''t help that much...

Oh Skippy, I'm so sorry. Are you using Patanol eye drops?? Ask your Allergist about Flonase nasal spray. I had run out of it and that's why I got so bad, and had to take prednisone. I also take Zyrtec tablets. Mine are finally under control. It was my bad that I ran out of the Flonase spray. Guess I underestimated how important it was for me to be on it. HUGS, I hope you get relief soon!!! xxoo Lisa

Lisa, I am so glad you are feeling better!!! My girls have allergies and it is such a challenge to deal with them. My youngest did well all summer and had immediate problems upon returning to school last week!
