Hello Everyone,

Long time reader of this amazing website filled with valuable information.

I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on this diamond from Blue Nile, and I now have it reserved while waiting for the picture to come through.

Unfortunately, Blue Nile doesn't provide Ideal Scope images, so I won't be able to get that.

It does receive a score of 0.7 at HCA, but I'm cautious of the fact that this is a SI1...as I won't be able to "see" the diamond, but Blue Nile confirmed that it's "Eye Clean".

So with all that said, here are the details:

Price - $835

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Numbers look good. Without photos, I'd go for VS2 clarity, though. I'd rather drop to G VS2 if necessary.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Blue Nile said that it's "Eye Clean"...does that hold any weight? Is it still too risky do you think?

I'd like to make the purchase this weekend, so that I can receive it in time before flying off for vacation :)

Any thoughts on the Strong Fluorescence? I hear both sides of the story that it impacts light performance negatively in bright sunlight...whereas I hear some say it doesn't affect them at all. I do know they're a better value though, if you don't mind/prefer the Fluorescence. Any thoughts?

I just received the photo of the diamond, I'd like to get the opinion of the more knowledgeable folks in this community to see if this looks good :)

I'm wondering why it looks black...I'm guessing the lighting condition? Lighting from the top?

Any thoughts, anyone?

And is it just me or do I see crystal inclusions all over the place...? Is it because the picture's zoomed up? Good chance it will be eye clean?

Bump for feedback on photo.

The only thing I *think* I can see is something down at the 6 o'clock area but I'm not even sure.

You need to provide a link to the report so we can see the clarity plot. That will help us tell if there is anything going
on in the stone. At this point it looks eye-clean from the photo but you cant really tell eye-cleanliness from a single photo.

Here's the GIA report.

Unfortunately it's a Dossier report...which I understand to not include clarity plots?

Is the Crystal inclusion potentially bad?

I also see a little white dot near the 12oclock area...right above the center of the diamond...is that a crystal inclusion? Or just dust??

Also, how's the value? I've done a lot of looking, but obviously many of you know a lot more than I do, the numbers look good though based on what I get back from HCA :)

Any other thoughts? I need to buy today.

Looks black due to lighting - ideal cut stones will often "go dark". And unless the stone is freshly steam cleaned, I always see specks on my freshly home-cleaned stones in pics. Not worried.

It looks good on paper - I'd get it home (as long as there is a good return policy) and see if you like it.
