Is it true, that if set in a V-Prong, princess cuts will be protected from chipping (providing it makes it out of the actual setting process)?

I''ve noticed several posts on here re: chipped princess cuts. Is it as simple as accidently bumping your hand or does chipping require a pretty severe knock. What does it really take to chip a princess, and does the v-prong provide the answer...or can a princess chip just as easy in a v-prong?

I have a princess, but I''m not sure of the answers to your questions. However, I can recommend a different type of stone that would solve your problems: the Whiteflash X-fator or Good Old Gold cut-corner square brilliant. They both look fabulous, face up slightly larger than princesses (no wasted carats in the corners), and get around the problem of corner chipping. Take a look at a few!
