Hello, friends,

I''ve been away for a little bit working hard behind the scenes to finalize my diamond search. It''s been a much longer, albeit much more enlightening, experience than I originally had anticipated, and, if it weren''t for the fine gentlemen and gentlewomen on this very site, it certainly could have been a daunting and perhaps unenjoyable one. So, once again, please accept my sincerest thanks for all of your help to date.

I have narrowed the search and feel strongly about the first diamond listed below. It is via a drop-shipper who cannot provide reflector imaging. However, my Idealscope is in the mail and my appraiser is on speed dial and, with your blessing, I think I''m ready to make the leap.

Below the first diamond is a list of backup candidates. If you would, could you please submit for me your impressions of these stones compared to each other based on your impressions of their proportions. If it were you, which one would you order in for closer inspection? Which one(s) do you have concerns about?

They are all EGL-USA''s so I am prepared for soft color and/or clarity grading. I would be happy with an H/SI1. I could live with an I. But I do not want to negotiate cut. Without further ado...

(Note: a few culet/girdle/etc. details are missing in spots... I will do my best to edit the post as this info is available.)

I''m going to bed now to sleep on the decision.

Looking forward to all of your advice,

1 and 2 I would consider for a ring.
But since 2 needs specific lower girdles to work well and the information isn't present I would go with 1 for inspection.

3 and 4 I would not.
They are very likely to have contrast issues due to the shallow pavilions in a ring.

Ditto - hi Surg!

Good morning, everyone. (Morning, Lorelei.)

Thanks for all of your feedback. I'm excited to be moving into a final stage here. *fingers crossed* *knocking on wood*

As I prepare to call for more info, are there any specific concerns you all have with the 1.52 about which I should inquire? Or do you think it's now just a matter of bringing in the stone and scoping it?

Surg

P.S. This is indeed for an e-ring, Storm.

I can't seem to edit the initial post, but I made a mistake in transcribing the depth percentage. (I did initially calculate the HCA correctly, though.) It is corrected below along with all other previously missing data. Please comment as you see fit.
