RB Settings

I''d like to get some suggestions for settings. I have not proposed yet but I would like to show my gf some settings to choose from after I propose but at the same time give her a limited choice based on what I like... I know if I don''t she''ll probably go bonkers trying to find the perfect setting. I''m setting the diamond in a cheap one for the proposal.

fyi, I have a 1.7 RB.

So, my gf likes the tiffany setting. I wanted to buy from Excel but unfortunately they don''t have any open appointments for the next two weeks. Does anyone have any other suggestions for tiffany replicas... also, if you were to suggest something other than a tiffany replica what would you suggest we look at and where?

I am NJ/NY area.

Hmm, I guess I''ll take any types of recommendations online or not... the only thing is its hard for me to imagine how a setting would be real life. Do sites provide hand shots or something?

Both WF and GOG would provide shots I think, at least they have in the past.

If you have a jeweler close by that carries Vatche, they "might" have that one I linked in stock. Most jewelers don''t carry every setting in a line...

Why don''t you let her just enjoy the ring a little in the simple setting? That way she won''t be in a rush to choose another setting. Good Old Gold carries many wonderful settings. I think I already mentioned the Stuller Solstice as a tiffany-style setting, and they also have gorgeous settings by Ritani that are worth considering. You aren''t going to get any custom setting done in two weeks, I don''t think. Settings either are handmade or ordered from the manufacturer and it takes time. Let her enjoy looking. In the meanwhile, she can be wearing the ring in the simple setting (did you go with a plain 4 or 6 prong tiffany style?). Many people keep that kind of setting for the e-ring and buy a diamond wedding band.

I agree with DS. take your time, I think it would be worth it to wait the 2 weeks and get in with excel. I love their Tiffany replica. A trip to Goodoldgold is another great idea but do make an appointment so they know you are coming and have time set aside. I hear it can get pretty busy in their stone.

Thanks for the advice. I think you are right Diamondseeker... I will let her enjoy the ring in the simple setting. For some reason it bothered me that I was buying her a cheaper setting and I wanted it to get replaced right away with the permanent one but I think you''re right and I don''t have to rush it. She can take her time with it and enjoy the process.
