Hi everyone, picked up a stone thanks to Lorelei :) whiile the stone is beautiful, I'm not completely satisfied, the colour and size are the primary concerns. Here is the stone I bought:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-I1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1235747.asp

I paid about $5,500

Looking to find something that has at least a G colour and the same level of cut, don't mind going with a I1 as long as its eyeclean would also like to maximize the size. Looking to spend at most around $10,000. The lower price the better (weddings are expensive :)

Only have a few more days within the return policy, so would appreciate some recmd's quick. Doesn't have to be JamesAllen.

Thanks everyone!

Any suggestions?? I was hoping to post pictures and such and now i am scrambling to figure this out, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lorelei's recommendation looks like an excellent choice (she's the PS resident pro - really).

You could also check out this one (I'll assume yr $10k budget is just for the stone only - with wire and PS discounts, you should be within budget):

Ask JA for IS images and ask if it's eye-clean.

Hey, appreciate the suggestions!

Lorelei that looks like an excellent stone, but I am looking to get something bigger than what I have. In this case size does matter :)

Phoenix, I was looking at that exact stone, I am a bit worred about what the idealscope will look like as it is a bit light.

Any other suggestions?

F

Oh P you are too kind, I just enjoy trying to help, thanks friend!!

fstone, that could be a great pick from Phoenix, check it is eyeclean and get an IS then we can take a look for you - pop it on hold also.

Great pick by Phoenix, if eyeclean!

Its a great pick, but based on its size its only slightly larger than the one I have. I know its a tall order but any suggestion on something with a larger surface size would be appreciated. I just feel like to spend double what I did I want something a bit bigger and in a better color.

Thanks everyone!!

I don''t think it will get any better than what she found, unfortunately....

You say you don''t mind an I1 but you want one that is eye-clean. What you are describing is a stone that would grade SI2 or better. You should be able to find a G/SI2 Ideal in your price range.

Then you would really have to dip into I1 range and in that size SI2 or I1 in particular might not be eyeclean.

Really appreciate what all of you are saying and really appreciate your help don''t think I dont. I am actually getting a idealscope for the 1.7 even as we post. ITs a great find. I am jsut in a posiition where I found an amazing 1.5 which is I1 and eyeclean thanks to lorelei and I guess its too much to ask for a second miracle :) Its just hard for us to justify spendign double for something that is marginally larger and a bit better colour. Unforutnately the original stone which is an I is appearing a tiny bit yellow from the side.

Do you think an H would bother you? It "might" help get you slightly larger...

To be honest I''m not sure, keep in mind we are in Canada and to arrange to get these stone is a PITA. So I jsut thought it made sense to jump to G to ensure the white level. I defintely can''t afford F or higher.

Ah, I understand. G is definitely safe.
