Hi JL!

Lets see what we can do to help you, is this diamond for sale online or with a store jeweller? If online, if you could request an ASET image and detailed photographs and a Sarin scan if possible, that will tell us more. Regrettably you can't tell much about fancy shapes just by the numbers, also the term Ideal Cut is vendor applied, GIA do not grade Princess for cut at this time. I can tell that this Princess is not of top cut quality, what is it your sister's BF is looking for exactly, the best cut Princess he can find? You will know that cut quality is so important in order to have a pretty diamond and just as a suggestion, unless he prefers a colourless diamond he could lower the colour a little and still have a very white diamond but this is of course a personal preference.

Sorry, meant to say it''s at jamesallen.com; the item number is listed above: 1198956. You can view the GIA cert and an image of the stone there.

You already answered one of my questions - was wondering why the cut wasn''t listed on the certificate. Thanks!

I will look it up, did you want the link posted or would you rather not in case of poachers? And very glad to help!

I just had a look, its a nice make of cut but what is termed a commercial cut quality, not cut to top standards but it still looks like an attractive diamond, next step would be to request an ASET image from James Allen, they offer these now which is great news. Once you have the ASET, post it here and we can go from there.

Not liking the loupe image.

You can ask for an ASET from JA if you want to further look into it.

What do you not like?

The important things are budget (preferably no higher than $6500), color (would like to stay colorless), and size around 1.2.

Ok then the one above might fit the bill, an ASET image will tell us more.
