Rate my GIA Certs for stud earrings

Here are the certs for a pair of studs I just bought. I took pictures of the actual earrings but the pictures simply didn''t look nice at all so I''ll try to a better shot of them under more ideal lighting.

I realize that one stone clearly has the better cert than the other, and it also happens to be a much newer cert. Aside from that, how did I do?

Need the dimension % and angles.

One stone's report is too early to have angles.

The 2003 is a pre cut grade report, however it appears the diamond is shallow depthed with a large table. We need the info on the second if you have it such as depth, table, crown and pavilion angles and so on, without it isn't really possible to tell without more info on both as to how well cut they are, are you happy with them?

Unfortunately, that''s pretty much all that came with the earrings, but yes, I''m very happy with them. Side by side they look nearly identical in all respects, particulary brilliance (sparkliness).

Would it be recommended that I take them to an independent jeweler for an appraisal?

If you want to insure them, might as well get them appraised. The 0.83c is not the complete report, there should be more infomation on it like the proportion of the diamond?

Well, I''ve already got them insured with an appraisal (free) I received from the jeweler I purchased them from. Basically, it''s a letter stating that the GIA certificates are authentic and factually correspond to the diamond earings and it also gives an appraisal value. I was just wondering if it''s recommended that I get them appraised independently.

Sorry to say this, but it perform quite badly on the cut advisor. scored on a 7.7, with a score of <2 being excellent.

There should be significant leakage from this stone compared to an ideal cut.

I guess I would be pretty pissed off had I paid for an ideal cut (or even excellent cut) stone. No offense taken though. I realize I''ve posted this on a forum with uncommonly high standards for quality. I have yet to meet a person (consumer, not a jeweler) in real life who knows anything more about diamonds than the 4 C''s, much less things like ''cut advisor scores''. The good thing is that the social-naked-eye test score reveals lots and lots of sparklies.

Thats the main thing, be sure to keep them clean to keep them sparkling, earring diamonds get dirty quickly and that can rapidly dull them.
