Brand new here.. 1st post (be gentle). o_O I get a bot obsessed whenever I have to make a big purchase, so I always research too much and shoot for perfection. I could not find any stones that I loved, so I worked with a jeweler to purchase a rough and have it cut.

It ended up being 3.3ct, H, SI1. perfectly square at 8.57 x 8.57 x 5.71 (which is what I wanted).
The SI1 rating was due to a small cavity in the crown corner, which will be covered by the prongs when it is set anyway.

It's still being set now in the design below. Hopefully ready next week for the big day!

How did I do? Also, I would be curious to know what you think a fair price for this would be...

:love:Hi and welcome! It looks to be a beautiful and well performing cushion! Congrats on your purchase, it is exciting that you got to see the diamond from rough to a beautiful cushion cut.

The ring design is interesting. I will probably lift the bridge in the basket a little more and add some milgrain detail. If you can remove it altogether and do a tension setting, that may be my preference as the current setting seems to be a combination of a tension and basket settings.. do you have a picture of the face-up?

Thanks!! "lift the bridge in the basket a little more and add some milgrain detail". <-- lol.. I have no idea what that means.

Here is the whole setting from the cad drawing.. and it's not to scale with the diamond.

The diamond reminds me of Sirius Star by Embee Diamonds

The diamond came out very nice!

A beautiful outcome! Please come back with shots of the ring once it's completed!!
