Hello All,
I would like to know if there is any flexibility on the RapNet Price of a diamond?
I did a search for a round brilliant diamond using the PriceScope search tool and found a diamond I was interested in. I contacted the vendor who I was working with and he said the diamond is available to view. He told me his cost which was listed on RapNet. I would like to know is there any flexibility on the price listed on RapNet or is that the final price?
I am curious too because I saw the same diamond listed with another PriceScope Vendor for about $700.00 more. Then another website had it for a little less than what I was quoted. I am a little confused I thought the RapNet Price is the final price because its what the vendor paid for the diamond.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Madison,
I have always found that many things in life are negotiable.
Sometimes that includes a price on Rapnet, sometimes not.
In general, any virtual diamond seller never buys any diamond till it's already sold, thereby eliminating any leverage they might have had if they were purchasing the diamond on spec.

I can tell you that there's been a rush to try and capture any and all internet diamond sales by eliminating virtually all service, and selling a diamond for minuscule mark up from the Rapnet list.
An argument could be made that this benefits consumers.
But an argument could also be made that consumers looking only at price may miss some crucial aspects of purchasing, and owning a diamond.
Some sellers offer more service, and there's really no way to do that and sell at the same price as a company offering a far lower level of service.

SO- bottom line is that as a consumer, my advice is to shop not only the final price- but also the services that the seller provides.
That might shed a little light on the price variations you are seeing.

Thanks for shedding some light on this! I guess the old saying you get what you pay for comes to mind here.
Thanks again for you help! :D
