Hi Everyone,

I'm considering a slight upgrade in carat size. I've been reading that increases in less than 1 ct are more noticeable. Which is a better stone from this information? Will I notice the size increase? I'm going to look at them side by side if the .91 has better specs than my current .72.

my current ring...
excellent cut, E color, VS1 clarity

.72ct
5.10 x 4.95 x 3.71 mm
total depth percentage 74.9%
table size percentage 55%

vs.

potential upgrade...
excellent cut, F color, VVS2 clarity

.91ct
5.62 x 5.47 x 3.87 mm
total depth percentage 70.7%
table size percentage 62%

P.S. I'm also trying to find a size calculator of sorts that will let me compare two diamond sizes... does something like this exist? Anyone have a link?

Thank you for your advice!

I think if you drop in clarity you can go even bigger. Plus, clarity that high on a radiant seems like overboard to me. but i thought this might help, its on a 6.5 finger :wavey:

Nice job! Where do you find these comparisons?

Isn't it awesome. I want to share the link but I'm concerned it would violate the rules.

This!!

I agree with Niel on dropping in clarity. If it's eye-clean, no one will know if it's VVS or SI... but everyone will notice if it's a lot larger stone.

BTW Niel, I'd love to know where you found that chart as well... Is it against the rules if you PM the link?? :halo:

PS does not have a PM function, unless you happen to already know Niel's email contact. Here is a less fancy version that requires you to make sure the measurements are per your ruler after printing it out. Cut it out and wear it on your finger to gauge how it looks.

Yeah sorry :(... I've put a post in to the suggestion box about PS getting one. Seems like something a lot of people would benefit from.

I really hope they do it... it's really nice to have something that's not so... public. ;))

Thanks for the help everyone. I forgot to "subscribe to topic" and didn't realize I got responses.

tyty333, thank you for the shape selector link, I will bookmark it :twirl:

Niel, that comparison image helps so much, thank you! It's just what I was looking for to give me a good idea of the difference. I agree, that I don't need that high of clarity. :appl:

bastetcat, cool name :twirl:

msop04, hii! I'd like the link PM'd too... was thinking since I am a newbie I just hadn't figured out how to PM, but now I see that we don't have that option. :(sad

Chrono, thanks for another helpful link! :wavey:
