Im buying my first (and only!) engagement ring and i want to do it my way and specifically pick out the diamond and band. I do not have pictures of the e-band or the wedding band but hopefully if i describe them enough you guys can help me choose the proper setting for it.

Here is the diamond that im looking at for the center stone; is it a good stone/deal?
Shape: Cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant radiant
Carat Weight: 1.06
Cut: Excellent
Color: F
Clarity: SI1
Depth: 67.8%
Table: 63.0%
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Medium to Thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.30MM x 5.31 MM x 3.60 MM
L/W Ratio: 1.19
Price: 3200-3400 dollars

I dont have the crown angles or pavillion angles yet but im hopefully getting them.

Questions
1. Is that too little of a L/W ratio to be considered rectangular? Will it be too squarish?
2. How should it be placed in a 4 prong setting: Running lengthwise with the finger or with the longest part of the diamond running perpendicular to the finger?

Here is a link of what the bands look like to give you an idea.

Thanks so much!

It is rectangular. However, it's a very fat rectangle.

I don't think I've seen a perpendicularly set radiant, yet.

Have you seen this stone in person?

Hey there -
price seems to be very competitive. As for choosing the right radiant, you should check out kmick''s multiple threads in "Rocky Talky" - most of your questions should be answered there!
Cheers!

I havent seen the stone yet so that was why i was wondering. I looked at a rectangle radiant in a store which was 1.25 l/w ratio and it seemed to be about right and my girlfriend liked it too.

i know there is a tool that will give you the visual of the shape when you give it the measurements.

don''t remember what it is called at the moment, but hopefully someone can link it for you.
