I am looking at a radiant w/ the following qualifications:

1.90 Carat
G
SI2 (looks eye clean to me)
67.2 Depth
67% Table
m-tk - Girdle
Sym - good
Polish - Exellent
7.25 x 7.02 x 4.72

I''ve seen the diamond and it is very pretty. But this is my first time diamond hunting and I want to be sure I do this right. Since there are no "ideal" measurements on cut, how do I determine if these dimensions are good or not?

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

There are some parameters which will assist you. You cannot judge by numbers, but only by eye for beauty. You can screen out many lesser quality stones by numbers, however, before you go into the "How does it look and compare?" scenario.

Hi Dave...,

I look at the chart and notice it was revised four years ago in 2004.
Shouldnt it be revised again on some parameters...? On the step-cut EC at least?

So far, I don''t really see any red flags. However, I can''t really say whether I like the stone or not without seeing some images of the stone and an ideal scope or asset image. Radiants can''t be judged by numbers alone. However, you''ve seen it and like it and that''s a great sign!

So, Dave, good to fair only based on that chart? That would leave me to believe it is not a great cut. It is rated as having excellent polish and very good symmetry. I realize you need to see the stone but I did want to get some indication as to the quality of the cut.

JW..., like Dave and Kcoursolle mentioned..., you wont get an honest answer with out seeing the Diamond!

It could be an awesome Radiant or at the same time be a so-so...

You''ve seen it..., did you like what you saw? (more important than numbers....)

The chart Dave posted will keep you focused in the range you''d like to be or get...
