Looking for a square radiant. 1 carat. Most important to me is a nice cut with brilliance, but you can never tell with these darn radiants. GF wants a square cut diamond and the radiant looks like a nice alternative to princess, but they seem to be more complicated. Just haven't seen a bunch of the square variety. Budget for stone between $4000 - $5500.

Can anyone give me their advice on these stones or direct me to some better alternatives? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! =)

-This one is more rectangular, but comes in at a good price. GIA cert

-Ratio looks right on target for a square. VS2 instead of a VS1, but polish and symmetry are better. GIA cert

Thanks!

Re: Radiant Advice Needed! Please help me with these prospe

I cant really tell enough about the first one to give a comment. I wonder if they can send you a larger picture?

The second one is more square but the faceting pattern doesnt really do much for me. It may be ok but its
hard to tell.

Here are a few that I thought may be worth taking a look at...

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/D-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Radiant-Diamond-1203776.asp Have to check if eye-clean

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/K-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Radiant-Diamond-1398522.asp large but low color

James Allen will give you asets on 3 of them free of charge so if you can narrow it down then have them take a look
at them and see what they think of the 3 stones (what they suggest)...get the asets and post. We can tell more
from the asets.

Re: Radiant Advice Needed! Please help me with these prospe

Thanks for the input and suggestions.

The James Allen piece does look kind of bland, as does the other example i gave. Hard to tell from the pics, so the ASET suggestion is good advice. Didn't know how reliable it would be with the radiant cut. Will give it a shot.

People tell me that you really need to look at radiant diamonds in person b/c they can vary so much. Make me a bit nervous trying to purchase online. They don't have those "magic numbers" in the measurement that rounds or princess would have.
