YES! I''ve convinced my SO that maybe Tiffany''s isn''t the way to go. (Its a bit pricey and I''d LOVE to save some $ and get exactly what I want

) Soooo. He''s considering online vendors. On the condition that he can see the diamond in person when he goes to NYC to speak with his parents on about our engagement (he would like to speak with them before he asks. So they''re not shocked hehehe. He''s already asked my dad). I know it will happen in August. (He promised!). But I am fine waiting for the absolute perfect ring if it takes me years. There has been nothing that makes my heart go pitter patter like that 1930''s Tiffany ring, but designing something with him or building it is just as good.

Again, I would love ANYTHING he got me but since this is so important to me (and I''m such a brat!), he wants me to be involved and won''t get anything I don''t love. There will be no upgrade for me. Ever. So might as well get it right the first time, right? (Also, I have a feeling if we designed it it may be cheaper

)

If he still decides Tiff''s, I''ll be ecstatic also, but boy do I love the idea of designing my own. Perfect!

vip0802 Thank you! I can't wait to see it too!! I think we are looking at the petite torchiere or something like it. but i'm pushing for the torchiere with side diamonds *swoon* AND it'll save us $2000!!!

Bagel_bandit Thank you! Its not really designing a ring together, as I am just finding a pre-made setting i liked on all the other pricescopers. I've been lurking/reading this board for almost 2 or 3 years and SOOO many gorgeous rings on here. *swoon*

Thanks for the compliment! He and I picked it out together...kinda. I fell in love with the setting (it's a Daussi) and he picked out my diamond after much research. I didn't think he'd get me the setting since I didn't quite know the budget and I was worried that it'd be too much so I flooded his inbox

with similar choices that were cheaper

. So, I was definitely surprised when he got me quite literally the ring of my dreams

. See...just because you help in picking out the ring and/or the diamond doesn't mean it won't be a surprise anymore. If you're kinda picky like me, it's important to have a say on what will be on our finger forever...since I'm definitey not getting an upgrade, nor do I want one so it works out
