My bride-to-be doesn''t want to wear a wedding ring, only her engagement ring. Would it be weird to do the ring exchange with her engagement ring? She is sure this is ok, I am not so sure. She also said that no one will be able to see the exchange anyway, so it is no big deal. Believe me, I am ok with not buying another ring (after her 2.0ct round)!

Just wanted to know if this is taboo.

Thanks

I don''t see anything wrong with that. Another option is to buy a plain WG band to use during the ceremony and she can wear the band when traveling or when she can''t wear her ering.

I completely agree with snlee.

And, actually, at our service, the pastor held up the ring before it was placed on my hand. so, everyone DID see it.

Another thought, it wouldn''t look any different than if she had two rings soldered together before the ceremony. (to the public)

I agree with snlee. There are plenty of times she might not want to be wearing her 2 ct. diamond. A plain (or any kind, for that matter) wedding band would be very good to have. I think you could use either during the ceremony, though.

I agree getting the plain band. I had a comfort fit for awhile and wished I had kept it. It felt so nice on my finger.
