Hey everybody, this is my first post, but I''ve been reading for the past few weeks as I prepare to take the plunge and propose. I''ve narrowed my search down to one stone that I''m going to go see in person tomorrow and I was hoping I could get your opinions on it before I head in. Here''s the information:
Certificate: GIA
Shape: Princess
Carat: 1.71
Color: I
Clarity: VS2
Regular Price: $9497
Wire Transfer Price: $9220
Diamond Proportions:
Measurements: 6.6-6.51-4.8
Length to Width: 1.01
Depth Percentage: 73.7 %
Table Percentage: 72.0 %
Girdle: Thin-Slightly Thick
Culet: None (Pointed)
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None (Inert)
First of all, is $9220 a good price for this? I know its a lot pricier than most 1.7ct stones, but I want something with a really fantastic cut. Secondly, do you think I should do a 2.0-2.2 ct stone instead with a less ideal cut? I''m going to set it in a simple "tiffany style" 4 pronged setting, is the cut going to matter that much to the naked eye once set?
Thanks in advance guys, this forum has been invaluable for my search so far.
