Quick Question On One Diamond

Hey everybody, this is my first post, but I''ve been reading for the past few weeks as I prepare to take the plunge and propose. I''ve narrowed my search down to one stone that I''m going to go see in person tomorrow and I was hoping I could get your opinions on it before I head in. Here''s the information:

First of all, is $9220 a good price for this? I know its a lot pricier than most 1.7ct stones, but I want something with a really fantastic cut. Secondly, do you think I should do a 2.0-2.2 ct stone instead with a less ideal cut? I''m going to set it in a simple "tiffany style" 4 pronged setting, is the cut going to matter that much to the naked eye once set?

Try and ask for an AGS0 cut graded princess for comparison.

There''s not enough info to tell, though at first glance I would find that table too large.

Here''s a gorgeous princess of around that size. Take a look at the ASET and Idealscope, as well as the actual image, and take a look at the stats in the AGS report.

That is a good suggestion if this could be done. The diamond has potential from the basic info but this is really not enough in order to get any meaningful info on the stone concerning cut quality. If you could compare with a diamond of known cut quality such as an AGS0 as suggested, and if the jeweller has access to an ASET scope, this would also be very helpful.
