Thanks everybody.

I appreciate getting the partial and impartial feedback :wavey:

I was wishy washy on going gold even though that was really what I wanted so all the feedback proved I should go with my gut

I'll have lots of pics you guysbcan decide if I made the right choice! Lol

Glad you went with your gut Niel! It seems like that's what you really want, going by your comments ; it will look beautiful on you - can't wait to see the finished piece!

Great stuff, Niel! I'm glad you went with what you seemed to really want. I find it's too easy for folks to talk themselves out of a good choice than into one. I think the yellow gold will look splendid on you; can't wait to see photos and hear your thoughts when it's ready! :wavey:

I know you've already made your choice, but just another fan of yellow gold here :) I think it depends on your skin tone and stone color, too, though.

Can't wait to see your pics!

yellow with white prongs....

Wait.... Push present in the offing? Congratulations!!!!!

As for this necklace, trust your your tastes, you know what color goes best with your skin tone. This from a woman whose skin is not fond of white metals. Yellow gold definitely looks best on me.The only significant white metal piece I own is my e-ring, and that's because FI felt better about having the stone set in platinum because it's stronger than gold. The wedding band is yellow gold.

Looking forward to seeing the pendant.

Haha no THIS isn't the push present. My present would be something I want to pair with it, so I want to make sure it would match haha.

My hubby barely supports a real push present, so an early one wouldn't fly. This was with my own $$$

Did you get your pendant yet? Wanted to make sure I didn't miss it.

I sure did!
Then I returned it :(

The NSEW orientation of the prongs in the CADs were not the same IRL. They were at a normal 4 corner orientation. Also it said it was a 16-18 inch chain, which made me think it was adjustable, but it was not. Only 18. I wanted 16. At 18 it sat too low and me and my less than petite physique sort of swallowed it up. I was disappointed in just how small a .7 looked on me that far down my neck. Probably would have looked bigger in 16 in, but it wasn't adjustable or removable.
Here are some pics though

Congrats, it looks lovely on you.

That stinks! What's the plan now? Maybe halo to get some size?

I have been loving Rose Gold lately (not on your list). I keep buying rose gold bracelets and necklaces!

Nothing for the moment. I didnt want a halo because it felt too fancy. Ill probably just wait until i can afford a larger second hand stone.

;(

Niel, I'm sorry that you returned it, but I still think that it looked lovely on you.

I'm 5'4" and I prefer 18" chains because 16" are too short where I cannot even see whatever it is that I'm wearing.
At least with 18" I can see part of it.

Good luck with your search.

Oh dang it, sorry to hear it didn't work out.

That's bizarre that it didn't turn out to be a news orientation!

Are you sure that a shorter chain wouldn't be the solution (rather than a bigger stone)? IIRC from your wedding dress pic, you're not a big person, I'd think that size would be healthy and notable on you. But then again, I shouldn't talk you out of a bigger stone. I would t mind if mine was a bit bigger!

I think it would have needed to be bigger and a shorter chain. You're right I'm not overweight- that wasn't what I meant, I should put myself down lol. But I'm tall and have very broad shoulders, and the lower chain and the size of the stone made the whole thing just feel lost.

I think you were right in going with yellow gold, but I know one of your concerns was how the diamond would look in WG. I have a .6 GIA XXX, HCA 0.8, K faint brown set in a WG bezel. I looked at it very closely in multiple lighting situations today. The only time I could discern color in the stone was indirect natural light from a window at about 4inches from my nose. It is nothing like my marquis L/M ering. Plus, only my DH should get that close to my pendants, and he could care less what they look like.

I can commiserate on the broad shoulders, that's me. Makes shopping for clothes a challenge sometimes. I feel like I can Hulk Hogan out of clothes from certain designers. :angryfire:

Keep us posted on how your bigger stone search progresses.

I am sorry it didn't work out, this is why I was suggesting a bezel it makes everything I think larger looking and more noticeable especially when it's going to sit alone on the neck.
