quick poll yellow or white

K colored diamond in a 4 prong pendent setting.

Yellow or white gold? Keep in mind my wedding set has yellow, rose, and white gold in it.
the only other nice jewelry i wear on a semi regular basis is a pair of tiffany pearl studs.
Im hoping to get a yellow gold initial necklace for a push/christmas preset, ideally id probably stack them together. So i don't know if id want a mix of yellow and white for that.. hhmmmm decisions are hard.

I know this is a hard poll because people will vote their aesthetic preference and I'm expecting because of that most will pick white.

But I am a yellow gold fan probably more so than white.

I'm more so concerned with what people think in regards to it being a k. Will the yellow help or hinder as there is so little surrounding the stone.
If I want to stack it later will I want to match or mix. I dunno.

The only reason I'm leaving 51% toward yellow gold is because I feel like its more unique and its more flattering for my skin. I have no nice gold jewelry, but here's an old tiffany silver necklace, I feel like it gets lost on me

I'm obsessed with yellow gold too! It will be 14k not 18 but I think with the minimal amount of metal showing it'll be fine.

I told myself if I was going to bezel it I would do white but I think its large enough I don't need to. Plus they don't offer a bezel from the place I found the stone. I'm tired of going to multiple places to gave things set I just want it done in one place.

The setting is relatively fairly priced. I mean if I wore it for 5 years and was like "blah yellow gold" I wouldn't feel too bad about swapping it out or something.

I remember your sapphire its really quite lovely. Do you find you wear it often?

I think its a fixed head do you think it would look weird compared to if it was a sliding head?

I wear a lot of grey, not a crazy amount but enough. I winder I'd that's an issue.

I haven't worn it since I got my diamond pendant in December, I wear that layered with my Chimento pendant.
I've considered selling it, it's really pretty so a shame to let it sit.

I still vote for YG diamond setting. Honestly if you know that YG looks best with your skin tone I would do the chain in YG as well.

How do I explain this. I have several shared prong and channel set bands in white or platinum because I want the eye to see a flash of diamonds. However my ering and pendant are set in yellow because I want to see the center diamond. The eye subconsciously compares.

I know what you mean about your pendant. I had a ring I really loved put a lot of care in creating and then I just never wore it. Couldn't let it just sit in a box and never get love.

I don't remember your diamond necklace I'll have to go look for it. That's in white metal I assume?

As for the basket as its an integrated head I don't even know if two tone is an option, but glad to hear you think all gold would be fine. Think it will effect the color too much?

That makes a lot of sense.

My e ring is a 5 stone and the white metal sort of just blends and makes it look like one big wall of metal.

My wedding rig is a Trinity. I like that the colored metal draws attention to the actual design of the piece.

So I went yellow gold. Exciting!

IIRC, it's 0.75 (5.85mm), it's an OEC I bought off of DreamerD. I don't remember the colour, I think it's H/I, no fluor. Maybe DreamerD will see this and she'll remember, lol.

ETA: I wear it pretty much everyday, sometimes I don't even take it off to sleep. I'm wearing it today too. I think YG is great (WG washes me out even more).

"Healthy size" was what I was going for . I didn't want a .3ct or anything though I know those are super wearable especially in a bezel. Though to be honest I feel like I could rock a 2ct everyday and still think it "wearable"

And I'm content that its close to my e ring but not bigger .

I voted yellow; that solitaire will be lovely! And, FWIW, I wear yellow gold and white gold necklaces (one of each) together every day. I've always mixed metals, so it feels natural to me. Sounds like you're the same. I will say, though, that I have to untangle my chains several times a day, especially if I've been walking/moving around a lot. It's annoying, but what can ya do?

Hi Niel,I want to change my vote to yellow based on what you wrote above. If yellow is most flattering on you and you prefer it more then I would for sure go with yellow. Our preferences are our preferences and no reason to force another if yellow works well for you. I love yellow but I don't think it looks great on my skin tone the way white metals do so that is why in general white metals are what I choose.

ETA:OK just read through the rest of the thread and glad you went with what your heart wanted. Wise choice! Wear in health and happiness.
