First let me say the 2 weeks I''ve spent lurking on the PS forums have been really educational. This is a first-rate community that you''ve all built here, and you should be proud of how great it is!
Like many others, I''m shopping for an Asscher diamond for an e-ring. When I started I had no idea how challenging it would be in terms of understanding the different aspects that contribute to performance as well as finding that perfect stone. The jewelers I''ve talked to locally do not have Asscher cuts, so I''ve been spending a lot of time looking at online inventories. The guidance you all have given other shoppers has definitely been helpful as I narrow things down.
My question is about L/W ratio. I''m considering a stone that''s 6.80x6.60 (for a L/W of 1.03), EX/VG. I know that ideally it should be more square, but as I look at a mm ruler, I don''t think I could tell that this stone wasn''t perfectly square, especially once it''s set. You experts who have looked at tons of square stones, what do you think?
