Can anyone PLEASE help me find this exact setting and who makes it? Cost is not the issue, BG cant have my stone set in their setting in time (Jan 7th) AND they wont sell loose setting. The rep at BG stated they simply receive this ring from another company but they cant tell me who they get it from. My local jeweler doesn't cant find it but states he can order from anywhere, if I find it.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help!

My jeweler also said "I can have that exact ring made if I send the picture to my CAD guy" Is this true? He said it would be roughly $600 all said and done if sent to CAD. This seems too good and too cheap to be a high quality option....is it?

Thanks for the reply but that one is significantly different. For starters, the band on the one you posted is much wider and more squared. Thanks for the effort though!

I can't help with finding your setting.. but yes.. if you send pics of the ring at different angles, it can be replicated and can be cheaper. I just recently found a ring I love but couldn't afford $2500 for a semi mount for my stone. Got 2 other appraisals. One for $825 and another for $1500.

They look the same to me. I think it is just the different angles of the photos. They certainly are not significantly different.

The setting telephone89 found is super close to the one you are looking at.

Quite frankly, I don't think finding the source of the Exact ring is going to help you. Your jeweller may be able to order from them - maybe. But it's probably not possible for him to get it faster than BG. I'm assuming of course, BG called for you and checked the availability of this setting for your deadline.

Unless your jeweller has some fantastic connection with this source, I don't see how they can beat BG who already works with them on a number of transactions. Your jeweller's probably not going to push you up in priority. The holiday period is just an insanely busy time in the trade.

Maybe you should start looking at the custom option - or another setting.

BG can get it overnight. The problem is that I have my own stone and I must ship to them then wait for it to be mounted and returned. In other words, three days wasted in addition to waiting for my turn to come up. My jeweler is willing to do whatever it takes to make this happen. He said it would be easiest if I found out who makes it and he can order it. He's even willing to lend me a setting for the special date if it's not in by then. Him and I also both agree that the one linked above has a wider/more square band.

Thanks again for all the replies! Fingers crossed!

If your jeweler says he can re-create it with a CAD and have the stone set in time, I'd let him do it. A simple solitaire like that really isn't that expensive, sometimes you're paying mark up for the name of the place selling it.

Good luck!

So someone doing CAD really can create an exact replica that easily?

Anyone else have any leads on where I can find this thing?

oops..

If you call BGD and tell them you are a PSer and send them your stone, they will be able to set your stone in it.

I'd be SHOCKED if they didn't.

They will....in two to three weeks and with an additional $150 in charges. I need the ring in a week.

That's a problem.

WAIT! http://www.stuller.com/products/121558/?groupId=99310 THIS IS IT! You can have anyone (including JA) get it for you!!

JA can get any of these in and set your diamond into them.

Any good local jeweler should be able to get a Stuller setting for you... but the laws of time, physics, Stuller's supply, and USPS/FedEx etc. still apply.

ETA - most jewelers should be able to set the stone correctly, but not all will be able to do so. We've seen examples of jewelers screwing up basic setting jobs. Be sure you're working with a competent jeweler.

Ditto VR beauty. Make sure the place has an in house bench. And make sure it's a good one.

To answer your question, any setting can be replicated but changes of it being exactly the same is slim. I have yet to see a setting replicated very closely to the original. Worth a try if you are not super duper picky and your jeweler is willing to do a few rounds of changes but doesn't seem like you have the time.

Agree that the mounting shown by BG and, e.g., AfricaGems is from Stuller - jeweler can order it as full mounting (jeweler supplies & sets bezeled accent stones), semi-mount (would arrive with accent stones set), or even a complete ring
http://www.stuller.com/products/121558/?groupId=99310

I would opt for the Stuller rather than look to a local bench, whose workmanship you aren't sure of, to recreate it since Stuller mountings/semi-mounts are well made & a good value, unless the jeweler tacks on a high mark-up. But as reflected in the notation under the Details header -- Out of Stock and Special Order items will ship when available -- Stuller does not have a stash of these laying around in multiple ring sizes & for various sized, center stones. So that's why BG gave you an ETA beyond next weekend -- and why no one, including James Allen or your local jeweler, can guarantee they will get it faster (unless they contact Stuller & receive ironclad confirmation that the mounting/semi-mount, in the ring and center stone sizes you need, is ready to roll out for overnight delivery).

Honestly, I think your best bet -- if a proposal next weekend is an absolute must -- is to present her with the diamond alone, explaining that you want her to help select the mounting because she's the one who will be wearing it daily in the years to come. Alternatively, you could have JA set the stone in their $180 14K gold, "placeholder", presentation setting:
http://www.jamesallen.com/engagemen...nife-edge-solitaire-engagement-ring-item-7115
with an eye to returning it to them to set in the Stuller model they would order for you. But even that may not be feasible since JA apparently wouldn't send out the princess stone in the presentation setting until Friday, altho' you could certainly ask if that can be expedited, assuming you make up your mind on the stone itself today.

P.S. The most recent, relevant Stuller catalog I can find posted online is their 2013 Mountings catalog. On page 93, you'll see that the wholesale price (what it cost jewelers to order from Stuller) for the #121558 semi-mount for a square stone with 5.5mm dimensions was $589.
http://www.suncoastgemlab.com/pdf/Mountings_2013-Stuller.pdf
Catalog does not tell you what the color and clarity of the accent diamonds was at that 2013 price, but thought you might like to have some idea of the baseline pricings.
