In person, it is blindingly uncomfortable to look at in sunlight and shadow. Under store lights, it looks amazing of course.

Price with custom platinum setting $21500 taxes included. Good buy or not?

we really can't evaluate radiant cuts without images.

what type of setting is it? that will help with price determination. you can use PS search under resources to find diamonds with similar stats.

Whether or not it is a good buy depends on the performance of the stone.

If this is in person I'd spend 10 minutes educating myself on how to use an ASET and $55 on the purchase of one and evaluate the diamond for myself: http://www.lexusindia.in/products/gb-aset-scope.aspx

If it's not in person get the stone called in by a vendor that can provide you with pics and an ASET image and then move on from there.

Either way, with a radiant you need images or an in person viewing and an ASET either in hand or an ASET image provided to you.

I have already seen it in person, handled it and it is amazing in the store, under sunlight and in shadow. Excellent ASET. Given all this, what say you about the price. Setting is simple and custom in platinum; no side stones.

I've checked everywhere, on PS search and at my local jewelers. No one has anything comparable for me to price.

Sounds like you have your answer to me. If you've seen it, know how to read the ASET and it's got good performance then it sounds like a nice deal.

That said, before you buy it get some grease on your hands (french fries are good for this) and handle the stone in the store after you rub your hands all over it. See how it performs dirty (once it's set it will usually be seen dirty, I'm sorry to say). Also make sure you see it outdoors in the sun (my jewelers let me take the stones outside, even if that means sending a security guard with me and keeping my Drivers License.

If all is well, congratulations it sounds like a winner.

If you love it buy it. Whatever the price if its the stone for you and it sounds like it then go for it.

Good advice from Gypsy too.

this is a great idea. greasy hands. :Up_to_something:
