Quick Help Needed! Tulip Prongs

Hey there- I have to make a quick decision and need some insight from the experts. I like the look of tulip prongs/tulip heads for diamonds but I was wondering about their security/stability. Are they safe?

If you mean the attached head, then yes, they are extremely strong and durable.

Is this for your own ring or for someone else? I'd always go for regular prongs if it is a surprise for someone else.

it's for me. Do tulip prongs cover more of the diamond than regular prongs? I'd hate to unnecessarily do that.
