Okay I''m making a pasta salad and I haven''t made one for oh... 15 years LOL Anyway, it has orange bell peppers, black olives, marinated artichoke hearts and asparagus, fresh basil, grape tomatoes and right before serving I will add marinated mozz balls.

Should I put Scallions or red onion?

Another vote for the red onions. From the sound of it, the red onions will add a lovely zing to the taste and colour of the whole salad.
 
Red onions...will add a little zest and a little sweetness.
 
Red onions. They''re sweet and will add some nice color.
 
My MIL uses red in hers.
 
Yikes...I would use both...well the tops of the scallions and slivers of the red.
