I am going to bring my ring for it''s "6 month prong check" and I have a few questions I will like to ask my jeweler, but don''t want to look like an idiot.
I have posted before, I have a VS2 square cut emeral diamond G in color. These is a black dot visible from all 4 sides of the diamond, and is visible in the exact spot on each side. I know diamonds are only graded face up, but can the same inclusion be visible from all sides equally. I am not even sure it is an inclusion or a shadow? It is visible from a far distance...but when you tilt the ring on certain angles it disappears.
The jeweler talked to my FI when he bought the diamond, so I have no idea what went on, we just though GIA and G, VS2...looked good to fiance, so must be good! Plus we have a very reputable jeweler. Anyway...is it unreasonable of me to want the stone taken out of setting so I can examine it? I love my ring, I just want to know what that spot is!
