Hi Everyone, we''re currently upgrading my e-ring to a 1.53ct RB, E, SI1 (it''s totally eyeclean, yay!) but I know very little about settings. I asked for the Tiffany Setting with six prongs because I love the look of Bec Cartwright''s e-ring but I''m just wondering what is the general opinion on this setting?

I just need some reassurance because it''s all paid for but I have to wait a few more days to see it finished and now I''m in that stressful waiting phase and starting to wonder "what if I don''t like it?" My main question is will it make the stone look big? What is good about this setting? Any reassurance welcome!!!

Thanks :-)

It''s going to be set in platinum too. I''m just having a bit of a panic all of a sudden and need someone to tell me it''s going to be nice, lol!

I am sure the "experts" will chime in more later, but I love the classic 6-prong Tiffany setting. The setting won''t take away from the stone and should make it looks nice and big (though, not as big as say a halo would!). It will be timeless!

ENJOY IT!

The tiffany setting is classic and gorgeous. it really makes just about any size stone look beautiful. Don''t worry, your 1.5 will look huge in it..

My original diamond has been set in a simple tiffany setting for 29 years, and I have never regretted it. Tiffany settings make the diamond the star, and that''s the best thing if you have a nice diamond!

well said!

It''s really a lovely, simple, classic setting that''ll make your diamond look huge! I have a 6-prong solitaire setting and I absolutely love it.

When I think of a Tiffany solitare setting (or an damn good copy of it) "pure" is the word that comes to my mind. IMO, done right, there is no other ring that is as elegant, classic, or time lasting than the Tiffany solitare. And paired up with the matching plain wedding band or their shared prong eternity band (or a copy) and the effect is stunning.

I think your engagement ring will look fantastic!

Thanks so much everyone. I feel heaps more relaxed now reading all your lovely comments. Will post pictures when I get it in a couple of weeks time! It really is a beautiful diamond. I love that it is an E colour and eyeclean and 1.5 carats is the perfect size for my hand.

Cheers :-)
