I have finally got a stone locked up for my g/f''s e-ring. Now I''m making the final choices on a setting. I am looking at these and wondering to myself if the abount of metal surrounding the stone will reduce the brilliance of the light. I have an ideal cut stone that rates very well on the HCA and I dont want anything to take away from its shine. So here is my question.... Will a stone look better (in terms of sparkle and brilliance) in a four prong tradtional solitair setting like this...

....than in something with 6 prongs basket style like this....

Thanks in advance! You guys have helped me soooooooooooo much in this process.

Hi there!
I guess the problem isn''t light return with an ideal cut.
The problem with a bezel setting is that you will see less scintillation/fire than with a prong setting when you tilt the stone.
Good luck!

In a well cut stone, it should not matter what setting it''s in. Get the one you think she''d like best.
