@mellowyellowgirl 's pandan chiffon cake caught my eye, and I finally tried some when I went to the local Asian supermarket yesterday.

I'm wondering about where you'd find live pandan plants I can plant, and what else besides cake pandan is used for.

Please share your pandan recipes! Anything involving a cool, sweet drink would be a plus, as that's what I crave in summer months.

Are live pandan plants available for sale in the US? If not, why not? Are they an illegal species to grow in California? Should I try to grow one from a live plant or a seed? Anyone have advice on growing it in a hot sunny garden?

I think @mellowyellowgirl grows her own pandan so she might be able to give you more info. As for a nice summer treat, my mom always makes this cendal dessert and it's so refreshing to have on hot days...

Hallo!!!!! Omg I'm so excited that a random post of mine has inspired you to try pandan!!!! I live for this!!!!

Do you eat jelly made with agar? Pandan juice great flavored jelly!!!

I usually layer it with coconut milk.

Pandan waffles are delicious (can give you the recipe later when you get your hands on pandan)

There is a craze in my cooking group for pandan milk bread.

You can use it to make sticky rice desserts.

I looooooove the flavour!

I love Vietnamese pandan cake!
When I go to my local Banh Mi shop, I always get some!
I have no idea how to make it, but it sure is yummy.

I love Vietnamese food. My bahn mi bakery makes the best sesame balls with mung bean filling. So light and crispy! I also love the sweet rice desserts.

We put pandan leaves in certain desserts (chilled barley with winter melon) for the fragrant smell. My mother grew them in the deep south and protected them from frost.

we are getting a Vietnamese fussion (hopefully not too fusion) place here in Wanganui

im very much looking forward to trying Vietnamese food
