first allow me to say that this forum is really informative and has answered many of my questions in my current "quest" (ring or diamond related).
I''m in Quebec and currently looking around for a diamond for an engagement ring and have spent quite some time on this forum and other excellent links that I actually found around here (GoodOldGold, etc...). I haven''t got much luck in Quebec City so far (where I live) and will be driving to Montreal tomorrow to visit a few diamond shops.
I have a few questions unanswered, so here we go:
1) Should I go the internet way, what would be the taxes I would have to pay for a diamond to cross the border from the USA to Canada? I guess the luxury tax, and the Quebec and Canada sales taxes (?)
2) Do you have an address for a good appraiser in Montreal? I was told about EGM labs.
